Some assumptions I have about our students today?
Our values are not the values of our students
Boundaries are different in different environments.
Students can be articulate about the school values.
Students like things immediate, inside, on screens.
Students are more hands on, visual.
Students have opportunities to communicate in a variety of ways.
Students are exposed to more of a global world.
Students accept much of what they find on the Internet.
There is still core content students need to know.

I believe to raise student achievement I need to ...
- reflect on my practice
- involve community, reflect on community values,
- un clutter the curriulum
- believe in the kids
- identify needs and next steps
- have high expectations
